Good Housekeeping enters in South Africa
Good Housekeeping, one of the most reliable magazines in the world will shortly enter South Africa to make housekeeping easy for South African readers. Hearst Magazines International and South African publisher Associated Magazines enters into a partnership to launch Good Housekeeping not only in English but also in Afrikaans version, Goeie Huishouding, in the second half of 2011.Good Housekeeping was first published in the U.S. in 1885 and currently boasts 11 international editions worldwide, in six different languages. Goeie Huishouding, will be the seventh new language edition.
Duncan Edwards, president & CEO, Hearst Magazines International said that, Associated Magazines, with whom they already published Cosmopolitan and O, The Oprah Magazine in South Africa, is a world-class partner and they were pleased to be bringing the venerable Good Housekeeping brand to a new audience of women looking for credible, time-tested advice and information that would help them run their busy lives.
Julia Raphaely, managing director of Associated Magazines commented, they were extremely excited about launching Good Housekeeping in South Africa, including an Afrikaans version. Their recent research had shown that there was still a significant gap in the market for an authentic women’s magazine to help the modern woman manage her home, health, self and family efficiently in such a way that she had the time and freedom to realize her own projects and ambitions.
